The Board of Directors of DeWeather Cares is composed entirely of dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time, experience, and leadership to advance our mission. Every member of the Board serves without compensation, united by a shared commitment to supporting those impacted by disasters, and ensuring the continued growth and integrity of our programs. Guided by the belief that “Showing Up Matters,” our volunteer Board leads with compassion, accountability, and a deep dedication to service. Through their guidance, oversight, and passion for helping others, they help ensure that DeWeather Cares continues making a meaningful difference where it matters most.
Peter founded DeWeather Cares in 2021 following a grassroots disaster relief effort to Waverly, Tennessee. A retired first responder and weather enthusiast, he has led disaster response efforts across the United States, helping communities impacted by disasters. Peter was bestowed the title of Kentucky Colonel for his disaster relief work following the Mayfield tornadoes and remains committed to the belief that showing up matters.
Timothy joined the DeWeather Cares Board of Directors in 2026. He lives in Slatington, Pennsylvania with his wife, son, dog and two cats. He recently graduated from Full Sail University with a Bachelors of Science in Audio Production. Timothy said " I have been volunteering on and off for a few years because I believe in DeWeather Cares missionl. When a Board of Directors seat opened up, I felt that I could use my various skill set to help further the mission."
Amy has served on the DeWeather Cares Board of Directors since its inception. In addition to serving as Secretary and Treasurer, Amy also heads the Cares Kits program. Amy lives with her husband and their dog in Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania. Amy is employed as an Outpatient Registration Lead for a local health network. Amy said," I have always wanted to help people in need, but never really knew how to. Being a part of DeWeather Cares gives me the opportunity to help others."
As a 20 year emergency services provider, Nolan joined the DeWeather Cares Board team as an opportunity to help those beyond his local community. He lives with his Wife, Brianne, and their three children. What little free time he has left is split between his oldest daughter's softball games, middle daughter's cheerleading, Son's basketball and chasing his goofy dogs around.
Brett joined the DeWeather Cares Board of Directors in 2023. He lives in Chickentown, Pennsylvania with his wife, daughter and 3 rescued fur babies. Brett is a Financial Advisor and serial entrepreneur. Brett said, "as a fan of DeWeather, when the word went out about seeking board members for a start up non-profit, I was personally compelled to offer any skill sets I have to furthering the organization’s mission to help others, especially those that are often overlooked in disaster scenarios."
Erika has served on the DeWeather Cares Board of Directors since 2024. She lives in East Allen Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania with her husband, their 5 dogs, 3 cats and various reptiles. Erika works in the hazardous materials transportation industry in dispatch, payroll and billing. Erika said, " I joined the Board in 2024 because I strongly believe in Cares' mission. After assisting with the 2022 deployment to Eastern Kentucky, I knew I wanted to stay involved and help however I could. Cares for Pets is especially meaningful to me because of my love for animals."
Joan has served on the DeWeather Cares Board of Directors since May 2026. A dedicated volunteer, she helps assemble CaresKits and Trixie Packs while coordinating the purchase of supplies for several DeWeather Cares programs. Joan was introduced to DeWeather Cares through her son David, and quickly embraced the organization's mission of helping communities in need. A retired accounting professional, she brings dedication, reliability and a passion for service to the Board.
